~ Reveal Announcement (31 August 2021) |
Sum Fruit is one of the levels in Fall Guys. It is a LOGIC level and was first introduced in Season 5.Fun[1].
Course description[]
Standard version[]
Sum Fruit takes place in a symmetrical arena with a pair of raised platforms and two Blizzard Fans circling the map's perimeter. Some fruit will be shot out of cannons, and the goal of the game is to count these fruit and memorize them. A few seconds later, six tiles will appear and the slime will rise, forcing players to retreat to the tiles to escape and causing the fruit to disappear. A number then appears on each screen, and players will need to stand on the tile of a fruit matching that number. Sometimes, unrelated objects such as magnets and stars may be shot out to confuse players. This process repeats two additional times in increasingly difficult rounds. After the third time, all remaining players qualify for the next round.
Players are given 12/17/17 (for each phase) seconds (displayed as 11/16/16 on the displays) of safe time to memorise the number of fruit. The slime takes roughly 8 seconds to rise, after which players are given 5 seconds (displayed as 4) to pick a safe tile. Approximately 3 seconds after the safe tiles are revealed, the slime then recedes and the tiles disappear, with this process taking roughly 4 seconds. (In the third time, the safe tiles are revealed for 1 second instead of 3, before the round concludes without the slime receding.) In total, this adds up to a duration of 1:41.
Course changes[]
From 5 October 2021:
- Previously, there used to be gaps in-between the tiles. Now, players can stand on the gaps, similar to Perfect Match.
Course strategy[]
Sum Fruit relies on players having a good memory. Note that, unlike Perfect Match, simply moving to tiles with lots of people on them tends to be unreliable, especially in the first round. If you have trouble memorizing the fruit, consider having a pad of paper and a pen handy.
At the beginning of each round, make your way over to the raised platform and observe the fruit. As the slime begins to rise, hop onto the tiles as soon as possible.
It is best to stay on the middle two tiles waiting for the number to show, as it gives you easy access to any tile that may be correct when the time to choose one comes.
Note that occasionally, the screen will display zero. In this case, go onto the tile of a fruit that has not appeared that round. Also, ignore anything that is not fruit, since these will never be counted.
Memorizing the fruit in order of quantity may be a good way of making a mental note of them. When the number comes up, you recall the fruit in order and better know where to go.
Trying to trick other players by standing on the wrong tiles before switching to the correct one at the last minute is a strategy to deplete the field more. However, if doing so, watch out for players ruining your travel to the correct tile, either by an inadvertent body block, or by grabbing you as you're about to switch tiles. When on the safe tile, stand as centrally as possible to avoid being pushed off the tile as best as you can.
If you get this map, it's more likely to win an Episode due to this map being harder than Perfect Match. Cases like these will become rarer, however, as more players start to understand this round.
Medal thresholds[]
- Gold - Qualified
- No medal - Eliminated
Known bugs[]
Missing Fruit*
- The walls of the arena do not have collision all the way up. As a result, in rare cases it is possible for fruit to bounce outside of the arena. If the player doesn't notice the fruit bouncing out of the arena, a luck-based scenario can occur in which they have to guess between two of the fruits.
- This tends to happen more with the bananas. If you notice that there are two fruits with the same amount, and bananas are one of them, chances are the amount for the other fruit is correct, and one or more bananas are missing.
Elimination Quota*
- As of Season 3 the round tends to end if a certain amount of people get Eliminated.
- As of the Tool Up Update this has been fixed.
*These names are conjectural names and has not been somewhat uniformly agreed upon.

Trivia[]
- In extremely rare cases, it is possible to win a Show on this level in Solo-based games. This is difficult as typically requiring all but one player somehow moving to the wrong tile.
- The winner would still have to survive for the entire 1:41 duration. Simply being the last one alive is not enough.
- Sum Fruit is the only round with changing levels of slime where the slime actually descends.
- This is the first LOGIC level to be added to the game since the beta.
- Sum Fruit uses tropical fruit, due to it being a Jungle themed level.
- The fruit that can be shot out of the cannons are: Bananas, Coconuts, Dragonfruits, Durians, Lychees and Papayas. Bananas are the only fruit available in both LOGIC levels.
- The Lychee in the splash screen can be seen with a more orange color than the purple featured in the round.
- Other than
Bean Hill Zone, Sum Fruit is the only round not to be featured in core shows or in any of the limited-time modes during Season 2 at all.
- The level was still playable in Custom Games however, in shows such as Jungle Jumble or Solo Variety Show.
- Sum Fruit is the only Season 5 (Legacy) level to not have any variants, unless the random quantities of fruits each time counts as a variation.
- Sum Fruit was one of the few rounds to not use music from the season it was released. Up until Season 3, it used Fall 'N' Roll (the Season 1 (Legacy) COURSE and LOGIC music) despite being a Season 5 (Legacy) round.
- As of Season 3, this round now uses Drum & Beans, the Season 5 SURVIVAL (and now also LOGIC) song.
- The other rounds with this characteristic were
Big Fans and
Snowball Survival, both of which also got changed in Season 3 to use music from their respective seasons.
Roll Off and
Roll On also didn't use music from the season they were released, however this is expected as they are both Season 1 (Legacy) themed, instead of matching the theme of their respective seasons. In Season 3, Roll On played Falling Stars (Chugu Bam Bam) (the Season 4 (Legacy) race soundtrack). This was probably an error, as the round is supposed to be Season 1 (Legacy) themed.
- As of the Summer Breeze Update, this has been rectified and Roll On now plays Fall 'N' Roll again.
