Squads (formerly named Squads Show) is a gamemode that was introduced in Season 4 (Legacy) and is one of the main Classic Games in Fall Guys. This mode places beans into teams of four.[1]
It was initially a temporary gamemode, and became a permanent gamemode on 1 April 2021.[2]. Since the Season 5.Fun update it can occasionally be replaced by another 4-player squad show (e.g. Squad Celebration) for a couple days.
From Season 2 to Fall Forever Update, with the introduction of "vaulted levels", the full level pool wasn't used, and was replaced with a limited level pool such as the Satellite Scramble Squads Show instead. However, as of Fall Forever Update, it was confirmed that the full level pool would return with the cancellation of Vaulting, and that the removed levels would be gradually added back starting in late summer. From 7 March 2023 until the launch of the Fall Forever Update, the full level pool (minus some select levels could be played in The Vault, in Custom Games only.

List of Rounds[ | ]
As of Fall Forever Update there will be no more vaulted rounds, as Vaulting will be now abandoned.
Show Mechanics[ | ]
Course[ | ]
Course rounds work based on a points system. Finishing a race earns points for your team. Placing higher in a race will earn your team more points. The teams with the most points qualify for the next round.
Unlike other playlists, most races time out in less time than the standard 3 minutes. These timeout durations range from 2:00 to 2:30, and are map-dependent. Generally, Course rounds will play out until all players qualify, However if players remaining (especially players in squads that have lower position) are impossible to make their teams qualify even if they can reach the finish before the timer ends, the course round will be ended immediately.
Slime Climb and The Slimescraper work like most of the Course rounds; however, falling into the slime prevents you from scoring points for your team.
Lap races such as Short Circuit and Speed Circuit are not available in Squads Show or any other squad-based playlists.
Survival/Logic[ | ]
Survival and Survival-based Logic rounds work based on a points system. For every second a team member survives, they earn their team one point. The lowest-scoring teams are eliminated when rounds over. If all team members falling into slime during playing survival rounds and their current score is impossible to make their team qualify at the end, members in their team will be eliminated immediately.
In these modes, a timer is always present, even if the round doesn't have one in Solos (e.g. Roll Out). There are two exceptions to this above rule: The Swiveller and Blastlantis. In The Swiveller, it ends after all players have fallen or the 3:00 timer is reached, before tallying up the scores and eliminating the lowest-scoring squads. In Blastlantis, the round ends when the 2:30 timer is reached as of water-slime rises high enough to remove most of the safe ground and eliminate most players.
For Perfect Match, because of the typically low number of eliminations on the normal variant, the Perfect Deathmatch variant is always the one selected in Squads Show.
Despite Pixel Painters being a Logic level, it uses a point-scoring system like Points levels.
Hoverboard Heroes and Hyperdrive Heroes, while being Survival-type levels, use Course-based scoring, so it's best to cross the finish line as fast as possible.
Points[ | ]
Points Levels in the roundpool work as normal, but compare to Solo-based modes, points requirements in Squads-based modes are more higher. In some levels this total is calculated by the score normally required in a solo mode, multiplied by the number of players in a full squad (e.g. Bubble Trouble would require 15 * 4 = 60 points in this mode). However some Points Levels do not follow the rules. The following table shows points requirement in Points Levels.
Level | Points in Duos | Points in Squads |
---|---|---|
Bean Hill Zone | 40 | 80 |
Bubble Trouble | 30 | 60 |
Frantic Factory | 10 | 20 |
Hoop Chute | 60 | 120 |
Hoopsie Legends | 12 | 24 |
Pegwin Pool Party | 35 | 55 |
Ski Fall | 40 | 80 |
One player can potentially score more than the total amount they would require when playing the round solo, leaving other players in the squad to be able to score less. (For example, in Hoopsie Legends, a player can score more than the 6 points they require in a solo mode.)
The Fall Feed will displays the point contributions for all team members upon the squad qualifying. This is now observed to work in Pegwin Pool Party and Ski Fall, but is currently not functioning in Bubble Trouble, Frantic Factory and Hoopsie Legends for unknown reasons. This mechanic also worked in Bean Hill Zone, but this round is now not present.
Despite being a Logic level, Pixel Painters uses similar mechanics to Points levels.
Volleyfall is a Team round in this mode, as described in the section below.
Bounce Party and Button Bashers are not featured in Squads Show or any other squad-based playlists.
Team[ | ]
Team rounds are present in Squads. They work as normal. Sometimes Team rounds will be selected earlier, with multiple squads being assigned to one team. Also It is possible for there to be multiple team games after each other. For example, Team Tail Tag into Snowy Scrap into Jinxed.
Sometimes it's possible to only get team games in this show, since due to the lower player requirements in this show, team games with a higher player maximum requirement, like Team Tail Tag have a chance of starting the round at 8 Squads in the show, and after that, team games still have a chance to be the following rounds, making it possible for a Squads game to only include team games.
All 2-team based Team levels (Basketfall, Fall Ball, Jinxed, Power Trip) can be selected as a Final. Volleyfall is a Team game in this mode, as well as in Duos, and can also act as a final.
In extremely contrived scenarios, if a Team round is selected as the Final, both teams can share the win by keeping the scores tied with 0-0 score only for map-specific timeout durations. However these timeout durations tend to be ridiculously long (9 minutes has been observed), the guaranteed win may not necessarily be worth the increased time expenditure.
Final[ | ]
Final rounds work as normal. And Finals will be selected usually when only 2 Squads left. If a player on your team wins the final round, all players on your team win 20.[3] It is currently unknown if a win in Squads counts towards the Weekly Crown League, though it seems unlikely.[4]
In Survival-based Finals, if multiple players from a single squad remain alive, the round will be ended immediately. If the timer is reached between two squads, both squads will be awarded the win. In crown-grabbing based finals. The first player grabbing the crown will win with his other squad members.
Victory Celebration[ | ]
- For members of the winning squad, each player will see their own victory celebration play while the other players in the squad clap and cheer for them. This is accurate as of Season 6.1 (Legacy).
- For members of the losing squad, they will still see a specific player's celebration, as determined below in the Notes section of this page.
- If the final was a Team game, the costume colours of the winning squad will be team-coloured.
- Volleyfall is the exception as all players in this level are not team-coloured.
Known Bugs[ | ]
- If people leave a Squads queue while the server is still populating, the game will never repopulate. When that happens, players can only leave and requeue at this point.
- In rounds where 7 squads qualify, only 6 actually do, due to a bug. If all squadmates have crossed the finish line and your position is 7th, you're effectively out.
- A fix for both of those was pushed on 6 April 2021. While the first bug appears to have been fixed, there are still reported instances of the second occurring.
- All rounds added in Season 6 (Legacy) are subject to a hidden qualification quota (similar to Main Show) instead of waiting for all players to finish or for the timer to end. This makes them end prematurely after only a certain number of players cross the line.
- Since Season 6 (Legacy), a series of bugs related to players leaving/disconnecting during the game have appeared. This applies to all squads modes (except Golden Goal Challenge). The general gist is that the game no longer seems to treat a player leaving/disconnecting as an elimination. This manifests in at least two ways:
- During a Survival round, if a player disconnects or leaves, their team's score will still continue to increase from the points that they contribute.
- During a survival-style Final, if a player disconnects or leaves, all remaining squads will tie in the final once every remaining player is eliminated, and will all receive the winning reward from the show.
Notes[ | ]
- The first initial end date for the playlist was on 5 April 2021. A hotfix on 1 April 2021 removed the countdown timer.
- Squads Show was briefly removed on 20 July 2021 to make way for Squads Duos; however, player feedback caused it to be reinstated just a few hours later.
- On 27 October 2021, the participants count was reduced from 40-60 down to 32-40. There was no official word on why this change was made, but it was very likely that the player-base was to low at end of Season 5 (Legacy).
- This got reverted on 30 November 2021 (Season 6 (Legacy) launch)
- If you don't qualify on a race round but at least one person on your squad does, you get the higher medal your squad gets.
- Before Season 6.1 (Legacy) (for the winning squad) and currently (for all losing squads), the celebration that was selected to be played was dependent on ping, with a player with lower ping having a higher chance of having their celebration played. Also, the celebration selected differed based on final round type and outcome:
- Survival-type finals (Hex-A-Gone, Jump Showdown, Roll Off, Thin Ice): first to get eliminated
- Of note, this is because the first to get eliminated will have a shorter time spent alive, which when converted into the winning squad times means they will have a faster qualification time than their teammates.
- Fall Mountain, Lost Temple: first to the crown
- Royal Fumble, Team game finals: the player with the least ping to the server
- Survival-type finals (Hex-A-Gone, Jump Showdown, Roll Off, Thin Ice): first to get eliminated
- Before Season 1, should there not be enough teams scoring points to fill the team qualification quota (with this usually happening on difficult races like The Slimescraper and Slime Climb), the game will determine that squads are tied and eliminate no teams. As of Season 1, however, teams that do not score any points at all will be eliminated.
Should this result in only 1 squad qualifying, the remaining squad will end up playing the Final amongst themselves. This tends to be Hex-A-Gone due to it being the fallback round. This has ostensibly been changed on 23 August 2022.[5]
- Before Season 6.1 (Legacy), timeouts in elimination-type finals did NOT award all squads with at least one member alive the win; the winning team is randomly selected. It is unclear if this is influenced by having a lower ping to the server, and/or having more members of the team alive when the round times out. As of Season 6.1 (Legacy), this is no longer the case.
- On 21 June 2022, Rock 'n' Roll was temporarily removed due to a few bugs.[6]
- Before the 14 July 2022 update, only one squad could be on a team, so Team games only appeared later in the show. As a result, Fall Ball, Jinxed, Basketfall, and Power Trip (i.e. team games with two teams) usually act as final rounds in Squads.
- On 14 July 2022, Basketfall, Fall Ball, Jinxed and Power Trip were added as non-finals. Rock 'n' Roll was also re-added.
- On 20 July 2022, Airtime was temporarily added to the show, although it has never returned again.
- Except for some specific spin-off shows like Naughty or Nice Show, the low-gravity and mini variations of Hex-A-Gone and Thin Ice do not occur in Squads, Duos and Trios Shows.
- On 18 October 2022, Pegwin Pool Party was added to the show.
- On 27 September 2023, Egg Scramble was removed from the show due to an exploitable bug.
- On 4 October 2023, Tip Toe Finale was temporarily removed from the show due to a bug where the last 4 rows of tiles would be fake, making it impossible for anyone to reach the crown.[7]
- On 7 December 2023, See Saw was removed from the show due to an issue with the see-saws.
- Strangely, despite being an unvaulted round, Fruit Chute is still vaulted from Squads, even though it is available in Duos as well as Solos. This is most likely an error.
- This used to be the case with Puzzle Path as well, before it got vaulted during the Survival Update.
- On 15 January 2024, Skill-based matchmaking was enabled in Squads.
- On 16 January 2024, the minimum player requirement was lowered to 28 players, making it possible to have Team games the entire round.
- On 1 February 2024, player requirements for many rounds were changed. This was alongside ROTATION STATION and Ruta en la selva being added, the first creative rounds to have ever been added to this respective show.
- Also on 1 February 2024, Jinxed was vaulted as a FINAL. The reason is currently unknown, but the final variant possibly got the increased player count (18-26), which possibly its non-final variant was going to have. The non-final variant, still has 10-16 players, so Jinxed's non-final variant, is technically 10-26 players. So the vaulting of that round is most likely an error.
- On 5 March 2024, Bean Hill Zone was removed from the show. The reason is currently unknown.
- Tail Tag displays the Fall Feed as well as other modes, but the feed doesn't seem to track anything. The way to qualify is speculated, but it could be point-based, or tail-based. This led to it being removed from Squads and Duos on 15 May 2024.
- On 15 May 2024, Volleyfall was removed from the show due to an exploitable bug.
- Also on 15 May 2024 the FINAL versions of Fall Ball and Basketfall were vaulted.
- Roll On was supposed to unvault on 29 May 2024, but since it's not currently in the files, it always disconnects when the level selector picks this level.
- That's why it was removed a few hours later. It's unknown when it will be back.
- Also on 29 May 2024, Block Party, Lost Temple, Party Promenade, Starchart and Wall Guys got temporarily removed from the game due to the new jump physics.
- On 18 June 2024, Egg Scramble, Hoarders, Power Trip, Rock 'n' Roll and the Final version of Jinxed were re-added.
- On 23 July 2024, Egg Siege got re-added, which means that all Team levels are now in rotation.
- Along with that, Knight Fever and Ski Fall also returned to rotation.
- On 1 August 2024, Hyperdrive Heroes, Lost Temple and Space Race got added back to the rotation. However, Hyperdrive Heroes was then removed an hour later from the game.[8]
- On 2 August 2024, Hoverboard Heroes returned to the game. Hyperdrive Heroes also returned as well.
- On 16 August 2024, Roll On returned to the game. However, Party Promenade and Pipe Dream were removed for unknown reasons.
- On 3 September 2024, Bubble Trouble returned to the game.
- As of 16 August 2024, this game’s icon is a misnomer. This is because it shows Party Promenade which is currently vaulted.
- On 10 December 2024, See Saw was re-added, but to Solos and Knockout only, this was fixed in a content update a few hours later.
- As of Winter Update, the qualification of Fruit Chute and Roll Out in Squads was increased.
