~ Reveal Announcement (30 November 2022) |
Speed Slider is one of the levels in Fall Guys. It is a COURSE level and was first introduced in Season 3. It was first revealed in a blog on 21 November 2022.[1]
Course description[]
Speed Slider is entirely raced in slime slides, with obstacles along the way, such as Bumper Triangles, donut bumpers, speed boosts and even a Spinning Blade.
There are three main sections. The first is a section split into multiple lanes, with each lane going up and down in a fashion similar to waves (and random bumpers along the way). These eventually converge, before splitting to two sides, meeting up to do a u-turn down the middle. The second section features more of these wavy lanes, but also feature upper curved paths with speed boosts, ending also with the path converging, splitting, then doing a u-turn down the middle. The final section features a twistier series of paths, with the spinning blade situated in front of one of them; again, there are more speed boosts along these paths. Eventually, all paths end with the player falling into a large slime funnel where the finish line is located.
Course strategy[]
Along with Hoop Chute, Speed Slider is one of two rounds to heavily feature the new Dive Slide mechanic. Use this round to practice it. Simply tap the dive button once, there is no need to hold it down, then carefully steer your way down the slide. If at any point you need to jump, do not forget to tap the dive button again to continue sliding.
The first section is an easy and gentle start. Start by dive-sliding downwards, jumping over the bumpers if necessary then continuing the slide. Slide down the slope, then at the top of the slope, jump then press dive. To reach the fastest speed, go down the paths that curve up later (the 2nd and 4th in the first section and the 1st, 3rd, and 5th in the next). When you hit the U-turn, it is likely faster to jump and dive while turning, rather than simply attempting to turn while in the dive-slide.
The upper paths in the second section are faster, plus you have the speed boosts to help you along. You'll have to jump and dive at the end of the path so you can land on the next one. If you miss the point to head for the upper paths (or fall from them), just traverse the lower laned section like you did the first section. To reach the fastest speed, go to the left slide. As soon as you jump dive onto the upper slide, jump and dive again against the left side of the slide. Then at the end of the first slide, jump and dive against the right side, and instead of switching to the slide to the right, stay on the left slide. Again, at the u-turn, jump and dive to turn around faster.
The shortcut through the middle and the spinning blade is hard to reach most of the time, so just avoid it. Instead, take either the left or right path. Where possible, attempt to use the sloped sections of the paths to pick up speed. Just be careful not to overshoot the slope and fall off into the abyss; it is however possible to fly off the slope and end up on a lower path. Simply slide down these paths, hitting speed boosts where possible, and zip to the finish hole.
A strategy for advanced players is to jump dive onto the curve in front of the middle slide and, without jumping, slide off onto the left slide. With the speed you've picked up, you would be heading right towards the slight curve in the slide that could make you fall into the abyss. You need to jump and dive over it and steer towards the speed boost. Finally, if everything was done correctly, you can use the speed boost to slide off the slide and jump and dive onto the faster route.
Final variant[]
A FINAL type variant was introduced in the X-treme Party playlist on 28 March 2023. In this variant, all players that reach the finish will win.
Time Attack variant[]
A Time Attack variant of Speed Slider was introduced on 26 January 2025 in Time Attack Shuffle. This level behaves very similarly to the other levels in Time Attack Shuffle, lasting 5 minutes.
Known bugs[]
*Unintended Respawns:
- The X-Treme version of the round, Speed Slider X, will respawn players who fall off the map even though it is not supposed to.
- This bug was fixed in Season 4. However, anyone who is eliminated in this round currently won’t be shown in the Fall Feed.
*This name is a conjectural name and has not been somewhat uniformly agreed upon.
Medal thresholds[]
- Gold - First place
- Silver - Top 20% of players in the lobby
- Bronze - Top 50% of players in the lobby
- Pink - Qualified, but outside of the top 50%
- No medal - Eliminated
