Its called Rock 'n' Roll for obvious reasons!

The last team to push their ball through the obstacles and into the goal is eliminated!

~ Reveal Announcement (6 May 2020)

Rock 'n' Roll is one of the levels in Fall Guys. It is a TEAM level and was first introduced in the beta version.

According to the game website, Rock 'n' Roll was designed by Joseph Juson.

Course description[]

In Rock 'n' Roll, teammates must push their ball all the way to the finish line. For the majority of the level, teams are stuck in their respective lanes, but at the downward slope players can interfere with other teams' balls.

Note: If two teams remain outside of the goal after 3 minutes have passed in the round, the game will call the round and eliminate the team furthest from the goal.

Overtime: If at least two teams are still tied for the lowest percentage when the 3 minutes runs out, the round will go into Overtime for 15 seconds. If at the end of these 15 seconds there are still at least two teams tied for the lowest percentage, another 15 second Overtime starts. This repeats until only one team has the outright lowest score. The overtime timer is not visible on screen. (See: Team Tail Tag - Overtime) However, in Squad Celebration, if all team (or if the two teams who got the lower percentage) decide to equal their percentages when the 2 minutes runs out, no Overtime will occur and no team will be eliminated. This is no longer the case, as of Season 3, where if two teams time out, or get an Overtime, wether it's the same percentage, or one team has a higher percentage, BOTH teams are eliminated either way. This was likely the reason it was vaulted in Season 3.

Standard version[]

Rock 'n' Roll is divided into 3 main sections. The first two sections are separated from each other; no team can interfere with the other. The first section features a bunch of speed bumps, and then a sharp bump for teams to push the ball over. The second section has a few bumpers and a series of columns that can block the ball from travelling forward if the team doesn't pay attention to their placement; this is then followed by another sharp bump to reach the final section.

This final section has two parts - a gentler incline, and then a steeper incline. At this point (approximately 58% completion), all teams can now interact with the other teams' balls to push them upwards and prevent them from progressing. The first two teams to reach the goal at the end qualify for the next stage.

Variations[]

Variations
Name Availability Season introduced Description Picture
Standard version Available Season 1 (Legacy) The standard version of Rock 'n' Roll.
Bumper Variation Available Big Yeetus and Anti-Cheatus Two Moving Bumpers are added; one after each of the sharp bumps.
Ending Bumper Variation Available A lot of Moving Bumpers are placed in the conjoined section.
Hammer Variation Available Six Rotating Hammers are added to the conjoined section; Three are placed right after the drop-off. The other three are near the Goal.
Season 2 Variation Vaulted Season 2 A bunch of Bean Barriers block of each section of the Level, which need to be turned off by Buttons that are behind each of them, except for the last Bean Barrier, as this Button is in front of it.

Thrusters are also added to the walls.

Vaulted The final conjoined section is now almost completely walled off with Bean Barriers. There are Buttons that turn off only the ones in front of the players.
Vaulted Six Thrusters act as goalies and prevent the Boulders from entering the Goal.

Course Strategy[]

Being a team game, there isn't a lot of room for strategy. Players must work together to push the ball towards the goal. Some must push forward, and others should stick on the sides pushing the ball around obstacles. Once players reach the final section, they have an opportunity to sabotage other players by hitting or grabbing the front of the ball. They can also grab opponents to prevent them from reaching the ball. A good strategy is to gang up on the team with the least progress so the other two can both qualify.

Keep your ping to the server as low as possible by playing on servers closer to your region: the higher the ping, the heavier the ball will feel. Help to push the ball if your ping is low; attempt to sabotage the opponent teams if your ping is higher.

Above all else, when you're trying to push your own ball - DO NOT GRAB. You'll more than likely end up grabbing a teammate instead. Just walk up against the ball and your fall guy's pose will change to a pushing pose when near enough.

Medal thresholds[]

  • Gold - First team to roll into goal
  • Silver - Second team to roll into goal
  • No medal - Eliminated

Medals were previously not awarded correctly; the second-placed team would more often than not get the gold medal instead. This was fixed as of Season 3 (Legacy)'s mid season update.

Known Bugs[]

No Teams Qualified: When there is a tie, of two balls, going into the goal at the same time, no matter if it's the first two teams' balls or the last two teams', the round will end, and ALL teams will be eliminated. This bug seems to be still present in The Vault, and Classic Knockout, and it's likely the reason it was removed from Classic Knockout as of the fourth appearance. This bug could also happen, if all three teams tie at the same time, or if the round times out.

Out of Bound Balls: In the variation with the Bumpers, there is a high chance that if the ball stops at one of the bumpers, it will be pushed outside of the map, making the level impossible to complete.[1]

Trivia[]

  • As of June '24 Update, Rock 'n' Roll is the only TEAM level, that has NEVER been exclusive to Squads. (Not counting Volleyfall's Team variant.)
    • In the beginning of Season 1, when all TEAM levels were exclusive to Squads (possibly by mistake), Rock 'n' Roll was removed from every show due to bugs. It did temporarily return, but only when Team levels were readded to Duos.
    • It will return in said update, and will be available in both Duos and Squads.
  • Rock 'n' Roll shares the same name (with some spelling differences) in most languages, except for Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and Korean.
  • Much like every Season 1 (Legacy) map, Rock 'n' Roll was also added to Classic Knockout, when it returned to Custom Show. This is also the first time it has reappeared since it was vaulted. But this map was still bugged in said show, so it didn't appear in the fourth appearance of Classic Knockout as a limited-time show, and it was temporarily removed from Custom Show's Classic Knockout as well, until the bug will be fixed. This also applies to Egg Scramble, Hoarders, and Tail Tag.
  • On 6 June 2024, it was announced that 4 of the 5 vaulted TEAM levels would return during June, however Rock 'n' Roll is likely the one excluded, due to the new physics presumably making it possible to jump over walls, and this may cause said round to be delayed to unvault later in the summer.
    • Strangely enough, Rock 'n' Roll did return. It could be, because it might have been adapted to the new physics before Egg Siege.
