Jinxed is one of the levels in Fall Guys. It is a TEAM level and was first introduced in the beta version.

According to an interview, Meg Ralph designed this level (See Trivia).

Course description[]

Jinxed takes place in a symmetrical arena that is mostly shaped like rectangle, but has a wider part near its center.

At each corner of the arena is a ramp leading up to a raised platform with a donut bumper that moves along it in a rail. On each side of the arena, between two of the corner platforms, is a a T-shaped platform with a donut pusher moving along a rail and two side by side ramps that lead down to the main level. At the "base" of the T is a colored square, which marks the spawn point of each team's jinxed player. Further towards the center is a raised Spinning Plate on each side of the arena. It is accessible by three very steep ramps evenly spaced around them. Those plates spin clock-wise.

A deep trench which splits the arena evenly in two is located right in the middle. This trench features four ramps (two on either side) with each leading back up to each of the arena sides on ground level. Four additional ramps (two on either side) are positioned just next to the trench, with players able to jump over it from them. At the very center of the trench is a very narrow platform that can be jumped onto from the trench's level. Three pendulums are also present over the trench: one above each pair of ramps that lead out of the trench and one in the middle of the arena, swinging along the trench above the central trench platform.

Standard version[]

In Jinxed, the players are divided into two teams. The setting is a big arena, with lots of obstacles like swinging balls and rotating platforms. Jinxed means "unlucky, unfortunate", and when a player gets jinxed, a pink cloud visual effect appears around them. At the beginning, one person from each team is jinxed; the rest are not. The jinxed players must hunt the un-jinxed players, and jinx them by grabbing them. This will cause the team to lose a "point", but the jinxed player can now infect the "clean" people (rendering the act of being jinxed both a pro and con in itself). The first team to have every player jinxed loses and gets eliminated.

There is a hidden 5 minute timer, after which the game eliminates the team with less unjinxed players. Because of the nature of this map, this tends only to happen in contrived circumstances.

In exceptionally rare scenarios, if both teams manage to jinx the last player at the same time, both teams will be eliminated.[1]

Overtime[]

Overtime cases are incredibly rare, but under exceptional or contrived circumstances they can happen.

If both teams are tied after 5 minutes, 15 extra seconds will be added. If after 15 seconds there is still a tie, 15 more seconds are added and this repeats until one team has the outright lowest score. (None of the 5 minute or 15 seconds timers are revealed.)

For Squads modes, in an extremely contrived scenario, if both squads remain tied after 8 minutes and 45 seconds, the round times out and only one team (randomly chosen by the server) will be awarded the win.

Alternate version[]

From the 2 February 2021 Season 3 (Legacy) mid season update:

  • The rotating platforms may be replaced with Blizzard Fans. These fans periodically switch on and off every 8 seconds.
  • Two punching gloves, which appear on the lowered level, can replace the swinging pendulums. These punch players upwards and stay raised for a while, blocking the passage for players in the lower areas temporarily.

Course Strategy[]

Pursuer* Strategy[]

The aim of this strategy is to jinx as many people as possible. These players will immediately try to get jinxed and then run around, chasing other players. "Pursuers" may team up on the team with the most jinxed players and cause them to get eliminated.

Runner* Strategy[]

This strategy is to run from the Jinxed, and is the more common of the two. These players may or may not become a "Pursuer" after they become jinxed.

*These names are conjectural names and have not been somewhat uniformly agreed upon.

General Tips[]

  • Use the terrain to your advantage. Much like Royal Fumble, you can use the slopes and spinning plates in order to gain momentum to quickly catch up with, or escape from, other players.
  • Note that the jinx can rapidly populate if you end up grabbing someone locked in a hug with another player.[2]

Medal thresholds[]

  • Gold - Team qualifies
  • No medal - Eliminated

Trivia[]

  • Jinxed is the only Team game not centered around a specific object (e.g., balls, tails, eggs, etc.)
  • According to an interview, main level designer, Meg Ralph designed this level.[4]
  • Not counting the first week of Fall Forever Update, when all TEAM levels, but Volleyfall were missing, Jinxed has been active since the launch of Fall Guys.
  • As of 1 February 2024, Jinxed's final variant was vaulted due the player count being increased from 2-8 to 18-26 in Squads, for unknown reasons, making the player count 10-26.
  • On 18 June 2024, Jinxed's final variant came back to Duos and Squads, respectively. Although, it can only act as a final in Squads, since it will not have the final round's screen. It does have it in Duos.
