Hyperdrive Heroes is the sequel you’ve always wanted. You gotta stay on your hoverboard and reach the finish without falling off. It just so happens that the hoverboard moves in a circular route. We like to keep you on your toes, don’t we?
~ Official blogpost (12 September 2022)

Hyperdrive Heroes is one of the levels in Fall Guys. It is a SURVIVAL level and was first introduced in Season 2. It was first revealed in a blog on 12 September 2022.[1]

Course description[]

Standard version[]

Hyperdrive Heroes is similar to its predecessor, Hoverboard Heroes. The map sets all the players on a hoverboard that slowly moves through out the course. Right at the start, rows of Thrusters will come at players, shooting in the air and blocking players from passing. Some of the rows, the Thruster moves around unpredictibly, resulting in high danger. After that there is a circle of thrusters that turn on and off at different times. After that, there is another 2 rows of Thrusters.

After that section, players have to jump of the hoverboard onto this higher platform, with 2 Conveyor Belt going in different directions. There is also Trolley Bots holding Bumper Blocks that aren't affected by the conveyor.

After that, the platform ends. There is a gap between a conveyor circle with a Rotating Beam on it. Players can either go to it by using the Hex-a-tiles on the sides, or wait for the hoverboard to fly under the platform take players there. After the conveyor circle, players have to wait for the hoverboard again, then jump on it.

After that there is a series of rotating beams floating in the air to jump over. After players have to jump onto a platform with rows of Hes-a-tiles players have to walk across. Then players can jump to the hoverboard again. Then players jump on another platform with more Trolley Bots on it, then walk up a Hex-a-tile ramp. Then players have to avoid the Trolley Bots while waiting for the hoverboard, then jump on it. Then players jump on 1 of the 6 (1 tile wide) tile paths to run to the finish line.

Alternate versions[]

From 10 October 2022 :

  • Some of the bumpers blocking the middle path were removed; instead, there is now another rotating beam in its place.
  • There are now more tiles directly before the finish, consolidating the thin tile paths into a single, gigantic, wide tile path on each side.

These variants currently appear to be the default variants; it is unclear if this is a permanent change.

Warped Hyperdrive Heroes[]

Main article: Wormhole Wanderers

In this version of Hyperdrive Heroes:

  • The hex tiles directly before the switching conveyor belt platform with the rotating beam have been replaced by a combination of thrusters (on the ground directly before where the tiles are) emerging out of the ground, and by wormholes that lead to the belt platform.
  • Directly after the rotating beams in midair section, part of the tile paths have been replaced with a wormhole on each side leading directly to the platform after it.
  • Following that, the hex tile paths after that have a wormhole at the end, leading to some groups of wide hex tile paths above it.
  • At the end of those tile paths is yet another wormhole, dropping players directly before the wide tile ramp leading to the platform featuring the single trolleybot with a rotating hammer.

Course strategy[]

Standard version[]

The main strategy for the entire course is just to play it safe. Similar to Hoverboard Heroes, if you fall off the level and into the slime you are eliminated. Just make sure to concentrate on your jumps and your own movement (particularly at the part with the rotating beams).

At the start, players can jump above the thrusters, but it is not recommended. Wait until the perfect time to jump and dive over them. Make sure not to take too long however as you risk the hoverboard getting ahead of you, or you falling off the back of it. The pattern of the thrusters activating is consistent across all playthroughs, so keep that in mind; the only difference is the potential of being bodyblocked.

At the conveyor section with the trolleybots, run in the direction that the conveyor is not facing and avoid the trolleybots as much as you can. Though you can use the respawning hex tiles at the sides to quickly move over to the conveyor and rotating beam section, this strategy leaves you open to being grabbed as you're about to jump, or you mistiming your jump and falling off. Instead, you can safely wait for the hoverboard to emerge, then jump onto it and onto the conveyor belt. If you do so, the timing will be such that you can follow the conveyor forward until it changes direction, then follow it forward off the conveyor belt, without having to worry about the rotating beam.

On the rotating beam section playing carefully is also highly recommended, even more so than in any of the other sections due to lots of grabbing potential. If any rotating beam comes your way, jump and dive over it. You could also follow the beams as it spins around, which will help in you avoiding any potential grabbers. Jumping on the axle of the rotating beam and waiting is also a possibility. Hanging near the back or the front of the hoverboard is recommended as most players tend to stay in the middle (do keep in mind though that staying at the back poses you a greater risk of falling off the hoverboard.)

On the next section with the hex-tile paths and the trolleybots, be fast and stay cautious of where other players are. At the section where the path splits and players have to cross tiles to get back to the hoverboard, players can either take the safer but longer normal path, or the slightly riskier secondary tiled path. Always note where other players are to make sure you do not get cut off while crossing the hex-tiles. The trolleybots at the end of the safe path can be unpredictable and it is recommended to wait for another player to attract them so you can have a safe path to jump back onto the hoverboard.

At the next section, try not to be first to cross the tile ramps, unless you have a safe path through where you can also avoid the trolleybots. For the final set of tiles leading to the finish, jump onto the hoverboard, then onto the tile ramp. You can either just run up normally which is the most recommended option, making sure to watch out for any grabs, or jump from ramp to ramp in an erratic manner to potentially eliminate other players. Alternatively, if there is coyote time present, players can make a late jump off the edge and dive onto the closest tile, without needing to wait for the hoverboard. (It is possible to wait until the hoverboard has completely departed, should players choose this strategy, so as to minimise the risk of being grabbed while trying to jump.)

Alternate versions[]

(Technically, these are the current default versions.)

  • The removal of the bumpers means players can ride the hoverboard up to the finish. Much like the earlier rotating beam section, jump over it while watching out for any grabbers.
  • The wider tile ramps are more forgiving. Just follow the same strategy as the standard version.

Course changes[]

On 10 October 2022:

  • The ending has been changed, there are more tiles at the end on both sides and most of the bumpers at the middle are removed and replaced with a Rotating Beam, giving players the option to stay on the hoverboard until the finish line instead of having to take the hex tiles.

Known bugs[]

Incorrect round name*

  • During the Sound Of The Future Live Event, this round was appearing under the name “Hoverboard Survival 2”. The name was the only aspect affected

First player win*

  • In Duos and Squads, there is an issue where as soon as the first player qualifies, they win the entire episode, with their squad/duo, making this level act as Final, while it should not, especially considering its player count. This is the reason it was temporarily removed from both Squads and Duos.
    • This appears to be fixed as of 2 August 2024, and the level is back in Duos and Squads.

*This name is a conjectural name and has not been somewhat uniformly agreed upon.

Medal thresholds[]

  • Gold - Qualified
  • No medal - Eliminated

A gold medal is awarded regardless of qualification position.

Trivia[]

  • As of the Fall Forever Update, when playing Slime Survivors in Custom Games, Hyperdrive Heroes can actually be picked as the next round and the splash screen will appear, but due to the files being gone, the round will never load and the game will disconnect players.
    • This won't happen anymore as of the July '24 Update, due to all game files for levels returning in this update, so either playing Slime Survivors or the Vault will now safely grant players access to the level.
  • Unlike its predecessor round Hoverboard Heroes, which is restricted to solo-based shows, Hyperdrive Heroes is also available in squad-based shows, and uses the same mechanics as Slime Climb and The Slimescraper.
    • This is no longer the case, since when Hyperdrive Heroes returned to Core Games, Hoverboard Heroes was also added to all squad-based games.
  • In both European and Latin American Spanish, this round shares the same name as its predecessor Hoverboard Heroes (Héroes del Aerodeslizador).
  • As of the Summer Breeze Update, Hyperdrive Heroes and Big Shots were the only SURVIVAL levels to stay vaulted from the game.
  • On 1 August 2024, Hyperdrive Heroes was added back to all Classic Games. However, due to an error in squad-based games, it was temporarily removed, and is only available in Solos, for the time being.
    • It was added back a day later, after the bug was fixed, and Hoverboard Heroes was added to Squads and Duos along with it.
  • As of 2 August 2024 in the July '24 Update, in Squads and Duos only, Hoverboard Heroes and Hyperdrive Heroes are tagged as COURSE levels, either because the levels would otherwise not work, as evident by the qualification bug on Hyperdrive Heroes on 1 August 2024, or it may simply be an error.
    • This was fixed in the Winter Update, now both Hoverboard Heroes and Hyperdrive Heroes are SURVIVAL levels in the Squad modes again.
  • As of ??? in the Ranked Knockout Update, the original version of Hyperdrive Heroes was gotten as a level variation. It is currently unknown if it returns fully.[4]
