~ Reveal Announcement (27 November 2022) |
Hoop Chute is one of the levels in Fall Guys. It is a POINTS level and was first introduced in Season 3. It was first revealed in a blog on 21 November 2022.[1]
Course description[]
The spiritual successor to Ski Fall, Hoop Chute once again features players scrambling to go through rings to score enough points to qualify. Only, this time, instead of running down icy slopes, players now have to slide down long stretches of slime slides.
There are two possible spawn points at the start where players initially start, with these paths pretty much identical, but mirrored. These lead to slime slides with hoops along the way. Partway along these paths, there is an upper path that can be reached by jumping and then diving.
All these paths eventually lead to a large slime slide, that features some ramps and some bent Rotating Beams, before once again splitting off into three different slides with more rings along their way. These slides eventually converge once again into a slime slide funnel with rings on the funnel sides and a Wormhole in the hole of the funnel. Taking the wormhole teleports the player back to the top, directly after one of the spawn points, onto the slide. Speed Boosts also randomly appear at some points along the course.
Most of the rings are gray, and hence are worth 1 point, while there are a few yellow rings worth 3 points. The goal is to score 35 points to qualify. (60 points in Duos Show, while 120 points in Squads Show.)
Course strategy[]
Along with Speed Slider, Hoop Chute heavily features the new Dive Slide mechanic. Use this round to practice it. Simply tap the dive button once, there is no need to hold it down, then carefully steer your way down the slide. If at any point you need to jump, do not forget to tap the dive button again to continue sliding.
It is hotly debated as to which strategy is the fastest; for now, this will not be discussed here (unless an obviously faster strategy can be found). If you can continually slide down the paths without crashing into other things and score points at a decent rate, qualifying shouldn't be too difficult regardless of the path you take. To that end, even the basic path where you just follow it straight and don't steer towards the sides will suffice. If you have a timer, experiment and see which paths work out faster for you.
The important tip here to keep in mind however is to dive only before you are about to go through the wormhole. By reflex, most players dive way before that. This is however not recommended here, as you will land improperly and ragdoll for a while, losing precious time. If you end up diving early, however, aim to land on the slime slide directly before going through the wormhole to prevent the ragdolling.
