~ Reveal Announcement (20 May 2020) |
Egg Scramble is one of the levels in Fall Guys. It is a TEAM level and was first introduced in the beta version.
According to the game website, Egg Scramble was designed by Meg Ralph.
Course description[]
Standard version[]
Egg Scramble is a team game. In this game, the players are divided in three groups: blue, red and yellow. The arena is triangle-shaped, divided into three sections, each of them with a big nest. In the middle of this arena, there are 43 normal eggs (worth 1 point each) and 3 golden eggs (worth 5 points each). Two rotating hammers are positioned near each nest, and they can either aid (by knocking players or eggs into the nest) or hinder (by knocking them away from the nest). Players have to bring eggs to their team's nest; when the time runs out, the two teams with the most eggs collected qualify for the next round. Eggs are collected by grabbing them to pick them up. Players are given free rein to go to the other teams' nests to steal their eggs.
Overtime[]
If two teams are tied for the lowest score as the timer runs out, 15 extra seconds will be added. If after 15 seconds there is still a tie, 15 more seconds are added and this repeats until one team has the outright lowest score.
Alternate versions[]
Starting from 10 November 2020 Season 2 (Legacy) mid season update, these variants can appear instead of the standard one:
- Donut bumpers have been added to annoy the players
- Golden eggs and regular eggs will switch so there will be 43 golden egg 3 regular eggs.
- A giant golden egg (like the one that can appear in Fall Ball) may be added on top of all the others. It cannot be picked up, but it can be pushed around by players. Despite its size, it is still just worth 5 points, like the normal-sized golden eggs.
Starting from ? ? ?, these variants can appear instead of he standard one:
Course Strategy[]
The most common strategy is to always go after the team with the least eggs. If your team has the least eggs early on, you will likely lose.
As with all team games, you have to hope to be placed on a team with other good players. Observe what your teammates are doing - if there are enough people attempting to steal eggs, defend your own, and vice-versa. Defending the golden eggs is of a higher priority due to their high value, but defending the normal eggs should also not be neglected either.
To defend the nest, grab or push other players, and in general try to block their (or the eggs') way out of the nest. Grabbing a player from the back while they are holding an egg, and holding on until you eventually let go, will make them drop the egg - a useful tactic for either attacking or defending. The nests are lower relative to the rest of the arena, so it can be challenging to get out - but people may attempt to jump and dive while grabbing an egg to throw it out instead.
As of Season 3 (Legacy), the physics of the eggs have changed slightly, making egg throws a far more powerful tactic (both offensively and defensively). While grabbing an egg, jump, and simultaneously dive while releasing the grab. This technique can take a while to perfect, but once mastered, it becomes easier to throw eggs into or out of the nest. This strategy was momentarily nerfed in Season 4 (Legacy) due to some slight changes in the physics, but is now almost back to its maximum efficacy as of Season 5 (Legacy).
As there are 58 points in total, the minimum number required to avoid elimination is 19 (due to how the remaining 39 can possibly be split among the other two teams - when the timer runs out, in the worst case a 19-20 split would trigger an Overtime). Because there are so many points on offer here, however, such Overtime cases are incredibly rare.
Course changes[]
From 15 September 2020 Season 1 (Legacy) mid season update:
- Lowered the player requirements, making the game likely to appear even late-game. With the reduced number of players, this puts a larger emphasis on teamwork.
Medal thresholds[]
- Gold - Team has the most eggs
- Silver - Team has the second most eggs
- No medal - Eliminated
Known Bugs[]
Camouflaged Golden Eggs*
For some reason, golden eggs would appear exactly the same as normal eggs, making it completely impossible to tell which is which, other than by throwing in or out a normal-looking egg and directly observing the score change by 5. This bug was exclusive to only one variation of Egg Scramble, and it's been fixed as of Power Party Update.
Infinite Points*
As of the Fall Force update, it is possible to get infinite points on both Egg Scramble and Egg Siege by repeatedly grabbing and letting go of an egg by the corner of a nest, which is likely to be the reason that Egg Scramble was removed from Squads and Duos, as it is exploitable. This has been fixed as of the Power Party Update. (see the Bug Fixes section of the blog post)
"Egg
Scramble"

"Egg - Scramble"
As of the Fall and Fantasy Update, a bug may occur where the text "Egg Scramble" on the loading screen may be spelt in two seperate lines.

Trivia[]
- During development, this level was known as "Egg Grab".[1]
- During beta, this level had an splash screen image that showed animal baskets instead of normal baskets, it was later fixed on release.
- The original splash screen image for this map was taken in the Fall Guys Release Date Trailer (Timestamp - 0:18)
- At the start of the Summer Breeze Update, this round was only added back to Duos, however in a later content update, it was added to Squads. Egg Scramble is also the first team round to be added back to Duos, after team games getting vaulted from said playlist. It formerly required exactly 6 players, and since finals in Duos are chosen at 8 players, or less, it was rare to have 6 players before a final. However, when there was only 6 players left in Duos, the round was surprisingly common to get. This was no longer the case when the Fall Force Update launched, since the player count was increased to 6-30, making it still possible to get it pre-final in rare occasions, but available normally during the episode. However, it got vaulted soon after this change due to a bug.
- Pegwin Pursuit and Volleyfall, two other team rounds were also added to Duos, as of Tool Up Update.
- This player count change of 6-6 to 6-30 also happened to Pegwin Pursuit, as of 1 February 2024.
- This makes the Fall Force Update the only update of the post-season updates where Duos didn't include Team games at any point, after Egg Scramble was removed.
- As of the Summer Breeze Update, it can appear with a lower number of players, with a minimum of 9 players.
- Out of all updates, Egg Scramble had the least time of availability during a single update, being available for a couple hours during Fall Force Update, before the Infinite Points bug (see Known Bugs) was discovered and the map was removed from Duos and Squads.
- Much like every Season 1 (Legacy) map, Egg Scramble was also added to Classic Knockout when it returned to Custom Show. This is also the first time it has reappeared since it was vaulted. But this map was still bugged in said show, so it didn't appear in the fourth appearance of Classic Knockout as a limited-time show and was temporarily removed from the Custom Show version of the show as well until the bug will be fixed. This also applies to Hoarders, Rock 'n' Roll and Tail Tag.
- The bug was only fixed and the round only got added back to the show in Custom Show, after Classic Knockout ended as a limited-time show on the fourth appearence.
- As of 14 December 2023 in Power Party Update, Egg Scramble was confirmed to have been fixed, along with Egg Siege, and it's likely to be added back to Duos and Squads when the next unvault happens.
- As of 16 January 2024, Egg Scramble can now appear with as high as 36 players in Squads and due its high maximum player count, Egg Scramble can possibly appear as the first round of an episode. However, it has to be unvaulted in order to know for sure.
- On 6 June 2024, it was announced that 4 of the 5 vaulted TEAM levels are coming back during June, and since this level isn't affected by the new physics (unlike levels such as Rock 'n' Roll), it has a chance to return.
- On 11 June 2024, it was confirmed to be a returning level.
- On 18 June 2024, it has been unvaulted.
