Custom Games (formerly Custom Show) is a feature in Fall Guys.

History[ | ]

Custom Shows were introduced at the start of Season 3 (Legacy), in an early access format. Hosting a custom show was limited to a selected bunch of content creators, and required the minimum number of players in a playlist to start a game (40 for Main Show and most alternate playlists). Only Steam players could host and join lobbies in this iteration. Hosting a show was also limited to Main Show and whichever alternate playlist was active at that time. (Squads Show, however, was unable to be selected as the playlist type in custom shows.)

Eventually, Custom Shows was released to everyone with the Season 4.5 (Legacy) update. This version of the feature was revamped, relative to the initial iteration. It featured the ability to select from a wider variety of playlists (with the option to favourite some of them), a list of players in the lobby (with the option to kick any specific player), and cross-platform lobbies. Player requirements were also dropped for all playlists, with some playlists only requiring a minimum of 4 players.

Mechanics[ | ]

  • Custom Game Selector has 4 tabs total. They are:
    • Search: Enter share codes to add and play creative levels or play creative levels recently players have played.
    • My Levels: Here players can see and play creative levels made by themselves.
    • Games: Players can see and play classic game mode.
    • ❤️ Favourites: Press specific key to add favourite games and players can see them in this tag.
  • Custom Games do NOT give any rewards for participation - no UI currency fame 1080p Fame, UI currency kudos 1080p Kudos, or UI currency crowns 1080p Crowns, and they are not intended to be used to complete Challenges or attain achievements.
  • All medals in all levels are pink-coloured. There is no results screen; every player is immediately sent back to the lobby falling screen at the conclusion of a Custom Game, if they have not left the lobby earlier.

How to host/join a game[ | ]

Go into the Game Selector menu, then change the tab to Custom Games. From there, the player will see two options - Host or Join.

To host a game, click on the Host button and follow the prompts specified on-screen to select a game, view players list, or (most importantly) show/hide the lobby code so other players can join your game. Once the minimum player requirement has been satisfied, the host can press the button to start the game at any time.

To join a game, click on the Join button and enter the lobby code provided by your host.

Trivia[ | ]

  • During Season 4 (Legacy), Custom Shows can be used to complete daily Challenges. This is no longer the case as of Season 4.5 (Legacy).
    • This change was added back at a certain point during Season 4, as challenges could be progressed in Custom Show again. However this change has been reverted on 8 April 2024, as challenges once again cannot be completed in Custom Games.
  • Party Time Tumble was removed some time after the release of Season 1, likely due to Airtime, Leading Light and Pipe Dream being temporarily removed from rotation due to bugs. It was later readded at the start of Season 2.
  • 3,2,1, Space! Show is the only season-specific playlist that has never been available in Custom Games.
  • In Season 3, any playlist that contained a vaulted round was removed from Custom Shows until The Vault was added on 7 March 2023.
  • Sweet Thieves Show was removed at the start of Season 4 and was readded on 24 July 2023. However, as of the Fall Forever Update it has been removed again for unknown reasons.
  • The Blast Ball Bangers playlist being added in the Power Party Update marks the first time a Duos-based playlist has ever been available in Custom Games.

Known bugs[ | ]

  • Before Season 3, it was possible to trick the game into selecting finals with 60 players. Select a normal playlist like Solo Show, wait until it has filled up, then quickly switch playlist (to a playlist which has a lower maximum player count than the number of players in the lobby, and which has a final set as the fallback round) and spam the button to start the show.
    • What happens in this scenario is that the game is now trying to force a larger number of players into playlists that are not designed for this many. Because no rounds are set to be able to accept these player counts, the round selection algorithm selects the fallback round.
    • Refer to the table in the section above for the full list of fallback rounds.
    • This bug was fixed in the Season 3 update.
    • This trick could have been used to start the Sweet Thieves Show with more than 12 players.
  • At some point during Season 6 (Legacy), a bug was introduced when starting a second game in an already generated custom lobby shutdowns the Custom Lobby without any warning, preventing you from starting the next game and forcing the Host to create a new Custom Lobby.
    • This bug has now been fixed on 9 February 2022 alongside server problems.
  • Following the Season 6 (Legacy) mid-season update, a bug was introduced where Fall Ball Cup could be selected and played with only a single player (the host), which would always lead to a single-player Fall Mountain.
    • This bug has now been fixed on 24 February 2022.
