Bumpers are obstacles in Fall Guys. They were first introduced in Season 1 (Legacy) and share their name with the donut-like Bumpers.

Obstacle description[]

Bumpers are obstacles that players bounce off of upon contact, and often appear in places to disrupt players' progress. Their size bounciness may vary. They are described as being inflated, and sometimes contract and expand when collided with in cinematics.

In Season 1, Bumper physics were slightly altered, giving players the ability to time a jump on them for increased bounce. Diving onto a Bumper makes players bounce and put themselves upright at the same time. If a player is knocked over onto a Bumper, they will not be able to get up without the help of an outside force, like a floor or another player.

Bumpers are normally layered and have rounded edges. They are decorated with sprinkles and have uniquely-colored insides compared to their outsides. Bumpers that appear in the Blunderdome (as seen in Fortnite x Fall Guys), Space, Underwater, and Digital themes have unique undersides as well. Digital-themed Bumpers are angular and are decorated with faint pixels instead of sprinkles.

Bumpers come in different forms:

  • Bumper Blocks: These are Bumpers with square bases. In Levels in the Future theme, they have diamond bases instead.
  • Bumper Triangles: These are Bumpers with triangle bases.
  • Bumper walls: These consist of often smaller Bumpers stacked on top of each other. Their insides are not visible.
  • Inflatable Hills[1], known as Padded Mounds in-game: These are egg-shaped Bumpers split in half. Their flat bases have no visible inside.
  • Miscellaneous Bumper structures similar to Inflatable Hills.

Blastlantis[]

During Season 3, Blastlantis featured a single Bumper Block between two slime slopes and near a Blast Ball spawner. In Season 4, it was replaced with a Kraken Tentacle previously only featured in the splash screen for that level.

Dizzy Heights[]

30 Bumper Triangles are present in the first section of Dizzy Heights, among the Spinning Plates. Under the floating Spinning Plates in the third section, there are Bumper walls catching players that fall below. The giant divider in the middle of said section is actually a giant Bumper wall, and is often used when these Spinning Plates are removed.

Hyperdrive Heroes[]

In Hyperdrive Heroes, several Bumper Triangles are found on the sides of the first Conveyor Belt section, and several more are found at the final Tile section before the finish line. Initially, the latter section featured ten Bumper Triangles arranged into pairs to create diamonds, but after 10 October 2024, only four remained to make way for a Rotating Beam.

Trolley Bots carrying Bumper Blocks also appear. A trio is found in the first Conveyor Belt section, two pairs are located on the Circular Platforms of the split paths section, and another trio appears on the second-to-last main platform, along with stationary Bumper Blocks on the sides of it.

Fall Guys Creative[]

In Fall Guys Creative, Bumper Blocks and Bumper Triangles cost 5 budget each. Padded Mounds were added in the Summer Breeze Update and cost 10 budget each. Padded Mounds can be linked to a Rotation Controller. Bumper Triangles are also featured in the Spinning Plate Maze.

Bumper Triangles are stronger than Bumper Blocks, and Padded Mounds are much stronger than both of them. When overlapped with each other, they can launch players backwards a considerable amount. As such, they are sometimes used to recreate Drums and Bouncy Floors.

Prior to the Winter Update, Padded Mounds lost their bounciness when liked to a Rotation Controller.

Trivia[]

  • Season 1 is the only Season to not introduce levels with Bumpers.
    • This is likely due to the introduction of Bouncy Floors, which have a similar appearance and purpose.
  • Bumper Blocks in the Underwater and Digital themes feature symmetrical sprinkles/particles.
