Blastlantis is built from the wrecked ruins of an old obstacle course. Beans will need their sea legs under them to stay afloat the titling pathways while being pelted with Blast Balls.
~ Reveal Announcement (29 November 2022)

Blastlantis is one of the levels in Fall Guys. It is a SURVIVAL level and was first introduced in Season 3. It was first revealed in a blog on 21 November 2022.[1]

Course description[]

Blastlantis is a map based on, and predated by, Blast Ball. Both maps share similar qualities and gameplay, where players have to survive while avoiding being blasted off.

Blastlantis is a large map, with most of the platforms being split apart from each other. Most of these platforms also move in a certain fashion, making round traversal slightly challenging in various manners. There are a variety of obstacles on these platforms, and a slime slope.

Due to the movement of these platforms, they frequently change in height, with there being points in time where these platforms are at their highest point. Strewn across this round are a large number of Blast Balls, spawning for the players to pick up and use to knock off other players into the slime, or water in the case of this level.

As the round progresses, the water will start rising. The round ends when a certain number of players are eliminated. In Squad-based shows, it instead lasts for 2:30.

There are two main platforms of interest to look out for, detailed below.

The Tilting Platform[]

This platform is a high platform in the middle of the map that rocks back and forth. At its highest, it is impossible to jump to, and can only be jumped on when it is fully tilted to one side. Where this platform tilts, there are ramps to help the player jump onto it. No Blast Balls or obstacles spawn on top of this platform.

The Tall Platform[]

The tall platform is the highest platform or point on this map, denoted by the ruined finish line. (In essence, Blastlantis can be seen as a race round which is in ruins.) It is relatively small and stationary, being one of the few platforms that does not move at all. It also has a ramp to jump right on top of the tilting platform. This area has a Rotating Hammer and contains one Blast Ball spawner.

Course strategy[]

As Blastlantis is similar in nature to Blast Ball (but vastly larger), some of the same strategies apply as well. However, the large size of the round can play in your favour if you want to play more passively. The large size means you may more often than not have to lob balls to attempt to knock out players that are far away.

A common passive strategy is making a beeline for the aforementioned tall platform and then carefully waiting there, paying attention to what the other players are doing so you do not get blasted off. Players that linger around the other sections of the map tend to be the ones that get blasted off first. The way to the tall platform can be rather perilous, though, due to all the moving platforms - take extra care that you do not fall through the gaps while attempting to cross them.

Course changes[]

With Season 4's launch on 10 May 2023:

  • The Kraken Tentacle, previously only featured in the splash image for Blastlantis, was added to the actual round, replacing the Bumper.
  • The water now takes longer to start rising, but once it starts, it will rise much faster than before.

Medal thresholds[]

  • Gold - Qualified
  • No medal - Eliminated

Trivia[]

  • The name "Blastlantis" is a play on the words "blast", which symbolizes the Blast Balls thrown at players, and Atlantis, a sunken underwater city in Greek mythology.
  • According to an official blog post, Blastlantis was built from the wrecked ruins of an old gauntlet. Some elements alluding to this can be found in the level, such as a crooked finish line arch (which is purely decorative since this is a Survival round), some malfunctioning Rotating Hammers, a broken TV display and broken flippers that don't actually activate but work as ramps. [2]
  • During Season 3, despite the loading screen image for Blastlantis showing a Kraken Tentacle, there is no such obstacle present in the actual level, and a Bumper Block can be found instead where the tentacle would be.
    • It is briefly seen in the SpongeBob collaboration trailer, where it suggests to function like a normal Kraken Tentacle.[3]
    • As of Season 4, the bumper was replaced by a tentacle.
  • Previously in squad modes, the round will only end after every player has died. The rising water is also more noticeable in squad shows than in solo-based shows due to it usually lasting much longer.
    • This was changed at an unknown date so Blastlantis would instead end at 2:30.
